Glass filter media is an innovative filtration material made from recycled glass that has been processed to ensure high performance. Used in swimming pools, aquariums, and water treatment systems to deliver superior water quality. Compared to traditional sand filters, glass media offers increased efficiency, better longevity, and environmental sustainability.

Glass filter media is crafted from carefully processed recycled glass, resulting in a sub-angular, negatively charged surface that effectively attracts and traps impurities. Its advanced design allows for the filtration of particles as small as 5 microns, offering superior clarity compared to conventional sand filters.

STEP ONE

COLLECTION + SORTING

The first step is to collect glass, which is provided by The Waste Trade Company. The Glass Filter Media is manufactured from pure, unused, predominantly clear plate glass.

STEP TWO

CLEANING + CRUSHING

Once sorted, the car windshields undergo thorough cleaning to remove any contaminants or impurities. After cleaning, the glass is crushed into small pieces, creating glass cullet. The glass cullet is further ground into fine particles to achieve the desired size and shape for the filter media. The glass particles are then sieved to ensure uniformity in size.

STEP THREE

QUALITY + PACKAGING

Once the glass filter media passes quality control, it is packaged into appropriate containers for distribution and sent to swimming pool equipment suppliers and other relevant industries for use in filtration systems.

Why Choose Glass Filter Media?

Our media offers a comprehensive solution to filtration challenges. Its performance, coupled with sustainability and cost-effectiveness, makes it a superior choice for anyone seeking high-quality water filtration. Whether for home pools, commercial aquariums, or large-scale water treatment, glass media is a reliable and eco-conscious investment.

APPLICATIONS

Glass filter media is versatile and serves a wide range of uses, including:

• Swimming Pools: Ensures sparkling, clear water while reducing maintenance costs.

• Aquariums: Maintains optimal water quality for fish and plants.

• Water Treatment Plants: Reliable filtration for municipal or industrial applications.

CASE STUDIES
  • Improved Water Clarity

Captures finer particles than sand, leading to crystal-clear water.

  • Low Maintenance

Filter more water before needing a backwash.

  • Cost Efficiency

Filter more water before backwashing, lowering energy and water usage. Save on chemicals like flocculants and disinfectants.

  • Eco-Friendly

Made from recycled materials, reducing landfill waste.

  • Prevents Bacterial Growth

Resists biofilm formation, ensuring a more hygienic filtration system.

  • Durability

Lasts significantly longer than sand, and usually outlasts the lifespan of the filter.

Sustainability

Using recycled glass for filtration supports environmental conservation. By repurposing waste glass, the product reduces landfill pressure and promotes a circular economy. Its longevity further minimizes waste. It requires fewer replacements than traditional filtration materials.
